  1. Do I have to be Asian to help out?
    Protect Chinatown is an effort to stop anti-Asian violence and raise awareness for the issue. You don’t need to be Asian to take part in that. Protect Chinatown is an opportunity for people of all ethnicities to come together for the greater good of our community.

  2. Does this only apply for Chinatown in Manhattan?
    Protect Chinatown may be an effort started in Manhattan’s Chinatown, but we operate on the basis of volunteer availability. We hope to have a wider service area so that people everywhere can feel safe.

  3. I am unable to assist with physical chaperoning. I want to help, but what can I do?
    There are other positions in outreach, marketing, and operations. As our effort grows, there will be new initiatives and projects. Sign up via our form and we’ll keep you on our list for when that time comes!

  4. Is there an interview process for volunteers?
    Protect Chinatown has an onboarding interview process that will vet the chaperone.

  5. Where can I donate to this cause?
    Yes! We’re currently open for donations via GoFundMe and Venmo (@protectchinatown).

  6. What other initiatives are there to help Chinatown? What else can I do to contribute?

  7. I have an elderly who doesn’t know how to apply for a service online. What can I do?
    Not to worry. Give us a call at 646-543-4055! Please allow for at least 1 day lead time.
